In the durian planting industry in Thailand, the low flowering and fruit setting rate of durian trees have always been a pain point for fruit farmers.
Why do durians have more flowers and fewer fruits?
1. Different maturation of male and female flowers: The pistil activity of pomegranate lotus only lasts for 12-24 hours, and if missed, pollination cannot be achieved.
2. Nutrient competition: If a tree bears too many fruits at the same time, it will trigger the natural fruit thinning mechanism.
3. Climate sensitivity: High temperatures and droughts can easily lead to flower drop, while rainy seasons can affect the activity of pollinating insects.
Why is "more flowers" so important for durian?
Durian is a typical crop with more flowers and fewer fruits. In its natural state, an adult durian tree may bloom thousands of flowers, but only 1% -3% of them can successfully bear fruit in the end. Therefore, the larger the base number of flowers, the more fruits will ultimately bear!
Usage effect
After our Thai client used Green seaweed extract on durian, more flowers bloomed on the durian tree. For durian as a crop, more flowers=more fruits.
Green algae extract promotes flower bud differentiation, laying a solid foundation for a bountiful harvest!
Mechanism of action
1. Activate flowering genes: Rich in natural plant active substances such as polysaccharides and trace elements, regulate the endogenous hormone balance of durian trees, stimulate flower bud differentiation, and shift the tree from "nutritional growth" to "reproductive growth".
2. Improving flower bud quality: The organic carbon and other nutrients in Green seaweed extract make flower buds more robust, reduce malformed flowers, and increase the proportion of effective flowers.
3. Extend flowering period: Enhance tree stress resistance, avoid early flower drop caused by high temperature and drought, and strive for a longer window of time for pollination.
Usage
Foliar spraying: Dilute 2000-3000 times and evenly spray on both sides of the leaves.
Drip irrigation: 400-750g/acre, with an interval of 7-15 days.
Compound with fertilizer: 10-20kg/ton.
